Habitat
Vyunovaya fish does not like areas with a strong current, usually it can be found in places with minimal current or in stagnant water. Most often it comes across in lakes, ponds, elders and backwaters. Bots eat mainly insects, but in some cases aquatic vegetation.
The loach family likes to hunt at night, but in the daytime they are inactive. This is a calm fish, although some bots like to fight each other, but they do not suffer from collisions.

The length of the domesticated bots is about 6 centimeters; individuals with a length of up to 15 centimeters are found in nature. The fish lives on average from 5 to 8 years, in some cases it is able to live up to 16 years.

If you compare it with our natural fish, then the closest ancestor of Botsia will be burbot - since he has a mustache, he has a spotty color, crawls along the bottom and loves to hunt at night.

For a home, a small capacity of 130 liters or more is suitable. As a rule, they do not leave the lower layers of the aquarium, but are very active in their open spaces. The larger the aquarium, the less stress these fish have - although this is a bottom fish, it is very dynamic and warlike.

Relations with the underwater world
Botsia get along well with most fish, however, they should never be kept in the same cage with predators or aggressors. Fish, although arrogant, but very shy - if they are intimidated, then they will stop eating and crawling out of their shelters.
Botsias do not like other bots, they constantly fight, but, like any pack, they have an order that an alpha male establishes. There is no need to worry about fights, since their battles are more formal in nature, they do not cause damage to each other.

Breeding
