Amanita gray-pink - a description of where it grows, poisonous mushroom

Most fans of quiet hunting know that the mushroom, which is called Amanita, is not suitable for eating. In addition, for most people, the name Amanita is immediately associated with a poisonous mushroom, the hallmark of which is the presence of a red hat with the presence of white dots on its surface.

Amanita gray pink

However, it should be noted that, oddly enough, this sounds, not all fly agarics are poisonous, some of them can be classified as completely edible, not dangerous to humans, mushrooms. The brightest representative of such a family of mushrooms is the so-called fly agaric gray-pink. This mushroom belongs to the Amanit family. Popularly, it is also known as pearl, pink or blushing fly agaric.

In what places and at what time it grows

This mushroom is able to form the so-called mycorrhiza together with different species of trees. Mycorrhiza is a kind of symbiosis of the mycelium of fungi and tree roots. In simple terms, this species of fly agaric is able to germinate due to its introduction into the roots of trees.

In addition, this type of mushroom is able to successfully germinate in almost any soil or soil (chernozem, sandy loam and so on). In the vast majority of cases, pink fly agaric is most often found in the Northern Hemisphere, which has a temperate climate. In most cases, this fungus sprouts in small groups in the soil. However, quite often mushroom pickers come across single specimens of this species. The growth period of this fly agaric begins in early spring and ends in autumn, until the onset of the first frost.

Description

The average size of the diameter of a fly agaric-pink hat can vary between 6-10 cm. In most cases, specimens with fruit bodies are found whose diameter does not exceed a mark of 12 cm. In young fungi, the shape of the fruit body has an ovoid shape. The fruiting body of mature mushrooms is characterized by its convex shape. It is worth noting that in very old pink mushrooms, the fruit body acquires a flat outstretched shape, in the center of which there is no tubercle.

A characteristic feature of young mushrooms of the Amanita muscaria is that they have a dirty brown color, in which a red tint is also present. The surface of the glossy cap of the mushroom is studded with warty flakes that are white or off-white.

The spores due to which the process of reproduction and distribution of this fungus occurs are ellipsoidal. Spore powder is characterized by a white color. It should be noted that pink fly agaric has a fleshy pulp, which does not have a specific aroma or pungent odor.

The pulp of this mushroom is white in color and differs from other types of mushrooms in its weak taste. In the case of physical damage, it immediately begins to acquire a light pink hue, and after some time the damaged area of the pulp completely becomes wine-pink.

The leg of the mushroom has a pearl shade and cylindrical shape, and its height varies between 3-10 cm. In rare cases, you can find specimens whose height reaches a mark of 20 cm. The average diameter of the leg of the mushroom pink is 1.5-3 cm. Initially, it has a continuous structure, but then, as it grows, it begins to become hollow. She is also known for its light pink or even in some cases white color, as well as a specific tuberous surface.

At the base of the leg is a special thickening, which in its shape resembles a tuber in some way. As a rule, this thickening is attacked by insects, which use it as a place to lay their larvae. This thickening has a membranous structure and hangs in young mushrooms under the fruiting body. It has a white tint, however, as the fungus develops, this thickening becomes pink. On its upper part are pronounced grooves.

The plates of the fruiting body have a wide form, located freely and densely, almost next to each other. As a rule, these plates are white, but if they are damaged, they immediately acquire a red tint, just like the mushroom leg. The closest related species of red fly agaric are:

  1. Panther fly agaric. As they develop, they cease to acquire a red tint. On the leg of these mushrooms is a ring that has a smooth surface. The edge of the cap is covered with a large number of special folds.
  2. Chunky fly agaric. A distinctive feature of these fly agaric from their edible relatives is that in case of physical damage they do not change their color and do not begin to blush. As a rule, these mushrooms have a dark gray color with small impregnations of a brown hue.

It should be noted that during the collection of edible mushrooms, attention should be paid to the change in their color and structure. After all, as you know, mushrooms that can be eaten during physical exposure to them, when they receive damage, begin to turn red. In addition, a ring is located on the legs of the edible mushrooms, as well as free plates.
