How to use hair tonic

Not every lady is ready to permanently abandon her native hair color, using persistent and semi-permanent dyes. Many people prefer tinting with special means that can change color, correct the shade and hide unwanted hair pigmentation. The variety of products is amazing: on the shelves of shops you can find as pearl-ash shades, as well as chestnut, chocolate and even blue.

How to use hair tonic

What is a tonic?

Unlike ammonia and ammonia-free dyes, henna and basma, tonic is a finished mass in consistency resembling balm.

The composition of the tonic includes an oily suspension that protects the hair from negative factors. In addition, the product contains medicinal herbs and esters that are responsible for gloss, in particular, for invisible damage to the structure (small cracks, possible cross-section, etc.).

Tonic is an ammonia-free product. Unlike dyes, it does not leave a sharp unpleasant smell, on the contrary, the hair smells delicious.

The benefits of toning stains

  • carefully treat the structure of the hair, give it shine, smooth the scales;
  • allow you to remove the unwanted shade that appeared as a result of unsuccessful staining with persistent pigments;
  • the hair becomes soft and obedient, due to which it is easy to style;
  • the white linen included in the composition allows you to maintain color saturation for a long time;
  • the possibility of using the composition with frequent periodicity;
  • varied color palette;
  • the tonic does not penetrate deep into the structure of the hair, but remains on the surface.

Features of the use of tonics

  1. The product is used not only for coloring, but also for lightening. There are toners with a bleaching effect that are created specifically for blondes. Of course, they can be used by brunettes, when there is a need for clarification in a couple of tones. But most often blonde-haired girls use tonic activator. They do not want to put additional stress on the hair, as happens when staining with ammonia paints.
  2. In addition to a diverse palette of colors, where each girl will find a shade for herself, tonics differ in affordable pricing. Even professional tools are 40% cheaper than their persistent friends. As for the duration of exposure of the pigment, good tinting agents are in no way inferior to expensive paints.
  3. It is allowed to use tonics for pregnant and breast-feeding women. You must admit that even natural dyes such as henna and basma cannot boast of such properties. This feature is due to the fact that tonics are composed entirely of oils and herbs, they do not contain ammonia, due to which they do not harm mom and baby.
  4. Toning agents can be used for all types and structures of hair. Tonics are used when staining brittle, dull and lifeless strands. They are ideally suited for painting gray hair, the product is often used by girls with perm and other types of styling, involving the action of high temperatures.
  5. Tonics can be applied as often as you need (within reason). So, if after dyeing the hair with persistent pigments, the following procedure is recommended to be done no earlier than 1.5 months, then after using the tonic, the repeated procedure is allowed after 10 days. It is very convenient for girls who have not yet decided on the final shade, for 1 month you can try 2-3 colors and choose the right one.
  6. Most professional series include products that promote accelerated growth (chili peppers), get rid of dandruff (natural oils) and reduce hair loss (Mexican guarana). In addition to these useful properties, tonics give shine and allow use on top of ammonia dyes (again, basma and henna can not boast of this).

How to use the finished tinting composition

Preparation. Change into old clothes or tie a hairdressing apron. Since the product is applied in the same way as regular paint, you need to prepare the necessary tools and materials in advance.

For the procedure you will need: plastic or rubber gloves, a brush or sponge for applying, a greasy cream (suitable for children), hairdressing clips, a comb with wide and rare teeth, a hair dryer, cling film or foil, a towel.

  1. Lubricate the hairline with the cream on the forehead, behind the ears and on the neck so as not to accidentally stain the skin. Do not touch the hairs, otherwise the product will not lie on top of the cream.
  2. Divide hair into 6 equal parts using a comb. Collect five of them in small tails and pin them with clamps. Leave one at the back of the head, and it will begin to stain.
  3. Put on gloves, divide the loose section of hair into thin strands, take one and put on your palm. Draw a little funds on the brush and paint over thoroughly.
  4. Go to the remaining strands, do the same with them. Next, twist the processed part into a tourniquet and stab it, then dissolve the second section from the occipital region.
  5. Divide into small curls and repeat the previous manipulations. Continue the procedure with each subsequent section until you have painted over the entire surface.
  6. To better absorb the dye, after the procedure, wrap the head with cling film and cover with a towel.
  7. Turn on the hair dryer and set a hot temperature on it, direct the air flow to your head and warm the mixture well for 10 minutes.
  8. Wait for a certain interval specified in the instructions. As a rule, it is 30-40 minutes, but the exact time is set by the manufacturer.
  9. Proceed to wash the tonic. Do not use shampoo, it is better to make a caring mask. For its preparation, it is enough to mix coconut and olive oil in equal amounts. Apply the mixture to your hair, wait about 1 hour.

  2. Comb your hair, collect it into several small flagella and put on a shower cap on top.
  3. Wrap your head in a towel, warm the composition with a hairdryer. Wait about another 15-20 minutes.
  4. After the expiration date, rinse the product, do not use cleansing shampoos. Leave your hair to dry naturally.
