Barberry F1 is an early ripe indeterminate hybrid. From the moment seedlings appear to mature, 90 days pass. Bushes are tall, powerful, well leafy, reaching 2 m or more. Up to 70 fruits are formed in the brush. The fruits are small, the average weight of 12 grams.

Growing Tomatoes Barberry

To disinfect the seeds and get good quick shoots, soak the tomato seeds for 15-20 minutes in a pink solution of potassium permanganate. Then they are washed with water at room temperature and poured with water for a couple of hours so that the seeds swell faster. Water is changed twice during this time, seeds that are larger in size are wrapped in a thick, slightly damp cloth and left alone until the next day.

1. Before planting, be sure to cultivate the soil with any fungicide. Prepared soil must be left alone for a while until it dries completely. Then sow the seeds to a depth of 0.5 cm from the top sprinkle with earth, water abundantly.
2. For sowing seeds in boxes, the middle of March is a good time. Young shoots are kept in a warm, well-lit place. Soil temperature at night should not fall below 15 degrees. It is necessary to sow not densely, otherwise the sprouts will be extended.
3. After 20 days from planting, seedlings dive into pots, hotbeds or beds.

Soil temperature should be at least 25 degrees. You should not rush into planting seeds in cool soil; it is better to plant tomatoes a week later than the due date, but in the end, get a higher crop.

Barberry seedlings can be grown in a room on the windowsill. First, seeds are sown in a small box or pot filled with a soil mixture.

1. To prepare the soil mixture take garden soil, humus, peat in a ratio of 3: 2: 1. If desired, you can add wood ash.
2. The first shoots appear after 8-10 days. After the first three true leaves appear, the plants are planted in pots.
3. Sprouts are watered no more than once every three days with necessarily warm water through a strainer. When steady warm comes, the weather will harden the seedlings.
4. Landing in the open ground is carried out in late May.

Watering and fertilizer

In a particularly hot period, plants are watered twice a day.

1. In the aisles, grooves are made, which from time to time are mulched with straw or sawdust.

3. Barberry tomatoes are fed once every two weeks with a solution of slurry, bird droppings or complex mineral fertilizers.

Tomato Barberry can be grown without seedlings.First you need to prepare the soil, if it is dry, 2-3 days before sowing it needs to be watered. Seeds are placed in furrows or holes located 30-50 cm away. Water can be fed into them immediately before sowing.

1. Seeds are sown to a depth of 1.5-2.0 cm, 6-10 pieces are placed in a hole, in furrows - after 7-10 cm.
2. The sowing period is chosen so that the sprouted plants do not damage the frost. You can provide for their shelter.
3. Shoots break through when the plants form 4-6 true leaves. Two plants are left in the hole, in rows (when sowing in furrows) - after 15-20 cm.
4. After the breakthrough, tomatoes are planted in places where seedlings are rare. Loosen the soil and feed with saltpeter (2 matchboxes per bucket of water). The solution is distributed into 7-10 holes, or 1.5-2.0 linear meters.
5. Once the plants form 10-12 leaves, further care for them is the same as when growing seedlings.

The seedlings of Barberry tomato plants form a powerful root system, absorb soil moisture better, are less sick and are not damaged by pests. Their harvest can be even higher than that of seedlings of tomatoes.
