Tomato Boogie Woogie - Description and characteristics of the variety

Boogie Woogie Tomato is an indeterminate crop hybrid. Bush growth is not limited. The plant forms up to 10 brushes with rounded pink fruits weighing 100-130 g. The variety is intended for cultivation in greenhouses and open ground. The best way to form a bush is in two stems. The plant requires garters to support, formation, removal of the lateral processes and pinching of the tops of shoots.

Description

The fruits are tasty and beautiful, high in solids and sugar. The boogie-woogie tomato reaches a height of 1.2 m, requires tying, as well as the removal of stepsons. Cultivation and care

If desired, you can grow a boogie-woogie tomato in an area where the frost-free period is too short. To do this, you can use a greenhouse or grow seedlings at first at home, in the heat. Then the conditions for the growth and development of plants will be suitable, this gives a chance to grow those crops that have a long growing season.

In order for the tomatoes to grow well, they need to be planted 30-60 days before transplanting into the soil, depending on the crop. For successful cultivation, you need to follow a number of rules.

  1. Compliance with the light regime. Perhaps one of the most important indicators. At elevated temperatures, in combination with a small amount of light, the plant will grow frail, weak, stretch upward and not overgrow with greenery. The root system will also be weak, the plant itself will be pale. Of course, such tomatoes will bear fruit. Sometimes daylight hours need to be reduced - to prevent overgrowing of tomato seedlings. But this must not be done from the very beginning of the landing.
  2. No less important is the temperature regime. Too low temperatures will prevent the plants from developing, but it should not be too hot - this enhances the respiration of seedlings, especially in combination with low light. Landings are covered with glass, polyethylene or paper. Before the first shoots, the temperature should be about 20-25 degrees, when the first sprouts appear - you can open the polyethylene and cool to 17-19 degrees during the day and 15-17 at night. This will help harden existing seedlings. Then, in sunny weather, you can keep the temperature in the region of 22-25 degrees, and at night - up to 17. In cloudy weather, you can bring the temperature closer to 19 degrees.
  3. Soil preparation. For seedlings, the soil must be highly nutritious, well absorbent, let air through and retain water. You can make a version of the mixture from one part of the turfy earth, two parts of sand (for friability, you can replace the sawdust) and one part of humus. For large-fruited tomatoes, it is good to add 60 g of superphosphate and 20 g of potassium sulfate or wood ash with a volume of 2-3 glasses to a bucket of the mixture.
  4. Very often, when transplanting seedlings in plants, a significant part of the roots breaks off. This happens because the root system is very branched and takes up a large amount of soil. The roots are then restored, but this is not a quick matter. If you grow each plant in a paper or plastic pot with a nutrient mixture, then there will be no such problems.
  5. You can also use disposable cups, clipped bottles, or small ceramic pots. The main thing is not to forget to make drainage holes in homemade pots. Boogie-woogie hybrid seedlings can be grown in a greenhouse.
  6. Lighting also deserves special attention.Seedlings need 12-18 hours of sunlight! And in the middle latitudes of the sun there is little even on the sunny side, especially in winter and early spring - it can be up to 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. Therefore, additional lighting is extremely important.
  7. The first point of proper lighting is the stepwise arrangement of seedlings at the window (if seedlings are grown in the house). The closest to the window are the low specimens, the farthest are those above. A mirror system is also needed, which will direct all the light to the seedlings. But then you can’t do without lamps. They are located at different heights, but best of all - as close as possible to seedlings.

You can use ordinary lamps from the hardware store - energy-saving, fluorescent. And you can buy lamps in a specialized store. There you can choose options for stimulating growth, for good photosynthesis and much more. You may need a few lamps. Lighting turns on early in the morning, then in the daylight it can be turned off and on in the evening. If there is little light, then lighting is possible throughout the day or even around the clock.

This variety of tomatoes is suitable for cultivation in the northern regions. For seedlings use greenhouses or grow seedlings at home, in the heat. Delicious pink fruits will delight 95-100 after the appearance of the first shoots.
