Tomato Pink Magic F1

Characteristics and features of the hybrid

A tall (indeterminate) hybrid tomato with powerful growing power from the famous Japanese company Sakata. Its ripening period is medium early and amounts to 100-120 days from the moment of sowing the seeds and until the start of the harvest.

Tomatoes are flat-round (strongly flattened at the poles), aligned. The hybrid produces a large percentage of uniform fruits per season. Their skin is thin, but strong and elastic. Tomatoes are beautiful, saturated pink with a glossy sheen, giving them a special charm. The fruits are very tasty, sugar and acid are well balanced in them. They are quite dense, but with a juicy pulp.

The hybrid is characterized by consistently high yields. Numerous fruits are tied in long beautiful tassels. Moreover, the bush can produce a fairly large number of brushes per season. The tomatoes are fleshy, large, with an average weight of 200-240g.

Suitable for cultivation in greenhouses (glass, polycarbonate or film greenhouses). In the southern regions, cultivation in the open field is possible, but the performance of the plant will be much lower.

The fruits of this hybrid are especially good for fresh consumption and the preparation of various salads, as well as for sale in fresh vegetables markets.

Strengths

  1. Resistance of fruits to cracking and deformation.
  2. Tomatoes retain excellent commodity characteristics when transporting over long distances and during long-term storage.
  3. The good taste of the fruit does not change during storage, resistant to decay.
  4. The ability to tie fruit in stressful situations, including in extreme heat and drought.
  5. High cold resistance and shade tolerance in early spring turnover.
  6. Beautiful appearance of the tomatoes themselves and the fruiting bush as a whole.
  7. A stain from the stalk of medium size.
  8. It is highly resistant to a number of pests and diseases of solanaceous crops. In particular, to: verticillus and Fusarium wilt, tobacco mosaic virus, brown and gray leaf spots. As well as various types of root nematodes.
  9. Suitable for cultivation in winter-spring and spring-summer circulation.

The secrets of successfully growing a hybrid

  1. A sufficient length of daylight for the successful development of the hybrid is important. Therefore, cultivation in the northern regions is only possible in heated greenhouses with additional illumination.
  2. Pickling seedlings at the stage of extension of the second leaf.
  3. Providing sufficient space for free growth and fruiting. Planting recommended 2, maximum 4 plants per square. meter.
  4. The formation of a tomato in only one stem with the regular removal of all growing stepchildren and lower leaves.
  5. The best option for obtaining a super-early crop is growing in heated greenhouses.
  6. Mandatory regular garter or installation of high supports. Garter is very important just a few days after transplanting seedlings into the greenhouse.
  7. Sowing seeds for seedlings is carried out in late February - early March.
  8. Planting in unheated greenhouses is carried out in late April - early May.

Hybrids of this type have a constant growth throughout almost the entire season. To prevent excessive growth, pinching the apex is necessary.

Seedlings are planted at the age of 45-50 days.

Reviews of summer residents of the hybrid

  1. Olga Nikolaevna, 3 years old: Although I’m more accustomed to growing our native varieties, progress does not stand still. I bought a bag of seeds of this variety last fall. The seller advised in a store for gardeners. I really wanted to try to grow tall pink tomatoes in a greenhouse. But I was afraid - I thought it was very difficult ... But I was afraid in vain! Pink Magic hit me with its "vitality." Even when the sun was over 40 degrees, the tomato continued to develop normally and bear fruit. Everything else, he is literally hung with brushes with pretty pink tomatoes. And how delicious they are! Would advise him to all summer residents.
  2. Max, 29 years old: What can I say? The Japanese, as always, well done! Cool tomatoes. Tasty, beautiful, pink. And there are a lot of them. I trade in the market - they go "on the fly." I grow in a heated greenhouse. Troublesome, but the result is certainly worth it.
