Tonopa F1 hybrid is a determinant. This is a powerful plant with a developed root system, a large number of leaves and excellent fruit hiding. The branches are completely covered with fruits, on the brush there are usually up to 7 vegetables, and the formation and maturation period is from 70 to 80 days.
The average weight of a tomato is 150-200 gr., The shape is flat-rounded. Each has a dense skin of saturated red color. There is no green spot at the base of the stalk. The color of the stalk does not change during the growth time.
Application
The pulp is fleshy and sugary, without the presence of acidity. Ripe tomatoes are delicious, they are used in cooking when preparing a wide variety of dishes, snacks and salads. Excellent qualities of tonopa are preserved during canning for the winter, and you can close them together with other vegetables as an assortment.
This variety can withstand transportation well, but vegetables are not stored for long - up to 14 days. In order to keep the fruits fresh and suitable for consumption, it is not recommended to damage the stalk during harvesting. Store in a cool, dry, dark place.
How to grow
Tonopa F1 does not require special conditions in cultivation, and experienced farmers warn that it is advisable to buy seeds from this Dutch hybrid from trusted sellers in specialized stores. And to check the expiration date of seeds is extremely necessary.
Harvest will be excellent if you follow the usual rules. Seeds are planted in prepared containers in late March - early April. It is advisable to warm the seeds before planting in the ground.
Experts advise to do the following before planting: withstand seeds in hot water, the temperature of which is 50 degrees Celsius, leave them for two hours. And in order to create the correct temperature regime, this is done either in a water bath or on a battery. After the set time has passed, the seeds are placed in cold, room temperature water to cool. After preparing a solution of manganese, adhering to such proportions - 500 g. water 1 gr. potassium permanganate. To make the seeds even stronger, they are placed for a short time in ash water, which is prepared simply: a teaspoon of ash per liter of water. After that, you can plant the seeds.
When the first leaves appear, a pick is made. Since leaflets develop in this variety mainly in pairs, picking occurs at the time of their appearance. The temperature regime is very important for the growth of tonopa. In order for the sprouts to begin to intensively stretch upwards, it is necessary to ensure the air temperature from +25 to +27 degrees. As soon as the seedlings appeared on the surface - the temperature should be reduced to +20 degrees, but not lower, otherwise the plant will slow its growth. Only after the seedlings have grown, have they gained strength - the time has come to transplant the culture into the open ground - to a permanent place.
If the tomato ripens in the greenhouse, there the soil temperature should not be below +18 degrees. When the tomatoes grow in the open ground, you need to make sure that frost does not come ahead, otherwise half of the crop can be lost.
Fertilizers will be required, despite the fact that the variety is very productive.
Pest control
Hybrid Tonopa F1 has good immunity against the most dangerous diseases, such as verticillin wilt and fusarium. But it happens that diseases provoked by pathogenic fungi and microorganisms negatively affect productivity. Therefore, the condition of plants should be monitored constantly, and if the first signs of damage appear, necessary measures must be taken immediately.
