Tomato Golden Stream

Characteristic, productivity

The variety was bred from Ukraine. First, tomatoes were grown on the territory of this country and neighboring Moldova, and then they were brought to Russia. In Russian gardens, the popular Golden Stream has already been cultivated for the second ten years. The variety is ultra-mature - the first crop can be removed after 90 days. He has many other positive qualities:

  • Very fruitful.
  • Immunity to disease.
  • It is perfectly stored.
  • It is not damaged during transportation.
  • Resistant to temperature changes.
  • The fruits are the same size.

The plant is considered to be determinant - that is, as soon as 5-8 hands are tied, the growth stops. So, energy is given to the development of the fruit. Usually the bush grows to 70 centimeters. There are few leaves, they have a dark green tint.

The fruits are oval, not very large, their weight is 80-85 grams. The color is golden or orange-yellow. The crust is thick and does not crack when ripe. The pulp is quite juicy, few seeds. Tomatoes taste sweetish.

The gold stream gives a very good harvest. So, 35 tons of tomatoes (10 kilograms per square meter) are harvested from one hectare.

Growing Features

Summer residents have no problems with this variety: the seeds germinate completely, they can withstand short-term frosts or an increase in temperature. But, nevertheless, it is better to plant it indoors (greenhouse). Or create them protection from the film if planted on the ground, since the variety needs heat.

  1. Seedlings. Seeds are selected, processed in a solution of potassium permanganate, washed with running water, dried and sown. Sowing is carried out two months before planting - in March-April. It is desirable that the seedlings grow in the most favored conditions. That is, greenhouse. Seed boxes can be covered with foil and constantly illuminated with a lamp. As soon as the shoots appear, the film must be removed and the plants allowed to germinate independently. The pick is made after the first leaves appear.
  2. The soil. Loamy and sandy soils are best suited for the variety. It grows well where previously cucumbers, peas, cabbage or corn were planted. It is advisable to introduce manure, potassium and superphosphate into the soil, and then dig it up, mixing it with the ground.
  3. Planting seedlings. Seedlings are planted in May after heat is established under the film, that is, in a greenhouse or greenhouse. Landing is carried out in spilled moist earth in two rows. Planted bushes in a checkerboard pattern. The roots do not need to be deeply buried, since the earth may still not be warmed up, and this will ruin the seedlings.

Care

Tomato Care Golden Stream

  1. Growing a Golden Stream is not a very easy matter. You need to constantly look at the tomatoes, take care and process them. It is very easy to grow that the bushes do not need to be planted. It’s also good that there is no need to follow the growth, since, having collected the right amount of ovaries, the bush stops growing.
  2. Due to their short stature, the bushes do not take up much space and it is good to grow them in small greenhouses. Even if there are intentions to plant tomatoes in the garden in the open ground, anyway - you must first keep it warm.
  3. For better ventilation of the earth, you should break off the leaves on the bottom of the stem.
  4. Although the bushes are small, it is better to tie them up so that they do not fall from a large number of fruits, and on open ground - from adverse weather conditions.

Watering and feeding

For all its resistance to climate change, the Golden Stream is very demanding on moisture. Tomatoes need to be watered abundantly every three days, but you should not fill in the bushes - this will lead to decay of the stalk.

You need to feed at least three times a season. The first time - 2 weeks after landing. The second is when the ovaries form. And the third - at the time of ripening tomatoes. Mineral fertilizers and organics are introduced as fertilizers.

When feeding, you need to look at the appearance of the plant. If the bushes look pretty healthy and full of strength, then you can wait a bit with fertilizer.

Harvesting

In early July, the first ripened tomatoes already appear. And in mid-July, the hands will be full of small fruits. Fruits the bush at the same time, which facilitates the collection of tomatoes. It is best to pick a little unripe tomatoes - after lying down for a while, they ripen, and on the branch there is room for setting new fruits.
