Often, improvised means are used, such as soap solution, wheat flour, starch, chalk, gasoline for refueling lighters.

How to clean a fur collar

Method number 1. Soap solution

  1. In order to clean the fur product, it is enough to apply hair shampoo. If you do not trust the simple cleaning methods, use a professional composition that can be purchased at leather goods stores.
  2. Start the process of cleaning the fur. Take the collar with one hand and with the other start gently knocking out the dust with your palm or cardboard tube. Then comb out the fur with a special brush based on natural pile. This way you will remove sticky hairs and clumps of dirt.
  3. If you decide to use regular shampoo, pay attention to the composition. The product should not contain unnecessary impurities and air conditioning. Such smoothing additives have a detrimental effect on the structure of the fur. Take a small oilcloth, spread a full-length collar on it.
  4. Take a bowl, dilute 60 ml. shampoo in 2 liters. warm purified water. Beat the composition with your hand in a dense foam. To simplify the task, use a colorless foam sponge. Next, dip the pile in the shampoo and squeeze slightly, leaving the fur moist. Swipe the collar with a sponge, avoiding strong wetting of the mezra.
  5. A large amount of foam should remain on the fur collar, which absorbs excess dirt. Use gauze to remove it. Send the item to fresh air, make sure that dust does not settle on the collar. Wait until the pile is dry. You can also use gel powder, natural soap with a lack of colors, substances for washing wool.

Method number 2. Starch

  1. If the collar comes unfastened, starch will help you. To do this, take a plastic bag, place a fur product in it.
  2. Sprinkle starch on the villi, shake the bag. Take a brush, start cleaning the fur through polyethylene. After completing the procedure, remove the collar, shake and ventilate it.

Method number 3. Flour

  2. Next, do not rub flour in a circular motion for 5 minutes (in a straight line, back and forth). When cleaning, the flour will begin to darken, knock it out, comb the collar with a wooden comb. Repeat manipulations for better cleansing.

Method number 4. Petrol

  1. If stained spots or greasy spots have formed on the fur collar, starch (preferably based on corn) and refined gasoline will help eliminate the problem (a composition for refueling lighters is suitable). Combine substances to obtain a liquid homogeneous mass.
  2. The cleaning procedure is carried out in a well-ventilated area. Spread an unnecessary sheet, lay a cling film on top of it.
  3. Gently beat the collar away from dust. Comb the fur, apply the finished mass to the entire surface of the product.Try not to touch the leather base of the collar. If this point is neglected, the mezdra will harden and deform.
  4. After you apply the petrol base to the pile, leave the collar to dry in a well-ventilated area. Next knock out the collar and comb out the remaining starch with a wide comb. Ruffle the villi.

Method number 5. Bran

  1. In this case, the cleaning process occurs with the help of wheat or rye bran. To begin the cleaning process, you will need 350 g of bulk composition.
  2. Take a non-stick pan, pour bran, send to the stove. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Then put the collar on a clean cloth, start sprinkling with hot bran. Gently rub the product with your palm against the pile.
  4. Comb out the fur with a comb with rare teeth. Knock out the rest of the composition with a wooden tube. If necessary, clean again. In no case do not allow the bran to burn.

How to clean a white fur collar

  1. Often, owners of collars made of light fur come to the fact that the pile turns yellow and loses its original appearance. Therefore, this type of product more often than others needs to be cleaned. The assistant in the procedure is hydrogen peroxide.
  2. Combine in one mass the cap of peroxide (3%), 250 ml. warm water, 2 gr. ammonia (ammonia). Shake the composition and pour into a spray bottle.

Cleaning the fur collar from dust and dirt

  1. Using a hair dryer from a hairdryer, you can check the degree of contamination of the fur. If the villi scatter in the direction of flow, then returns to its original state, while the fur glistens, the product does not need to be cleaned. If the fur, on the contrary, sometimes sticks together and looks greasy, the product needs help.
  2. Wrap the collar with a damp gauze cloth and gently knock out the dust. It is better to do such manipulations on the floor, putting the fur pile down.
  3. Small items, such as a collar or hat, can be cleaned by heat treatment with steam. For this operation, steam cleaners or an iron with the corresponding function are used. After processing, dry the fur.
  4. Use lemon juice diluted in half with water. The solution cleans dust, dirt and gives shine, returns the original appearance. Take a microfiber cloth, moisten it in the composition, leave it slightly damp. Then wipe the villi, dry the fur product, comb with a comb.

If the fur product is contaminated, it is not necessary to run to dry cleaning. You can conduct cleaning manipulations on your own, saving hard-earned money. To begin the procedure, conveniently place the product on the floor or other flat surface. Test the tool that you are going to use on an inconspicuous area of fur. Proceed with processing, evenly distributing the composition. Do not forget that the base (mezdra) cannot be wetted strongly. Otherwise, the product will lose its shape, an expensive thing will simply go bad.
