How to do waxing at home

Many people confuse such concepts as “hair removal” and “hair removal”. In the first case, the hairs are removed with the root, as a result of which the result lasts up to 4 weeks. In the second, the hairs are “cut off” from the surface of the skin without affecting the follicles. Shaving and depilation cream are a thing of the past. Modern girls are not ready to spend time daily removing unwanted hairs, so they use wax. If the procedure is carried out correctly, the skin will remain soft and not irritated, the main thing is to avoid gross mistakes.

Waxing Technology

Wax is heated and applied to a previously cleaned and fat-free area, leave for several minutes. The molten composition partially penetrates the skin. After time, the wax hardens, tightly enveloping the hairs. Then it is removed with a sharp movement or folded into an envelope, due to which the hair is removed from the root, allowing you to maintain a long-lasting effect. The result depends on the individual characteristics and the rate of follicle formation. As a rule, waxing lasts from 2 to 5 weeks.

Types of Wax

Types of wax for hair removal

  1. Cold wax. The most painful and ineffective composition. It is used to remove excess vegetation in the armpits, bikinis, face and abdomen in women. It takes longer to epilate the cold cycle, because the hairs are not removed the first time. You have to repeat the procedure several times, thereby irritating the skin. A plus of the technique is the removal of hairs from 1 to 3 mm long.
  2. Warm wax. The most optimal method of hair removal at home. A quarter of the composition consists of moisturizing ingredients that soothe the skin. The product is made from cosmetic beeswax, softener and pine resin. The price of warm wax is slightly higher; it is available in the form of a roller or in a jar, due to which it gently removes all hairs. The product is suitable for absolutely all areas, from a deep bikini to a face. Epilation is practically painless, hairs after the procedure do not grow into the skin. Warm wax is hygienic and easy to use.
  3. Hot wax. The tool is used in the cabin and requires some skill. Hot wax is removed by hand and only in the form of an envelope. The procedure is slow and painful, since the extraction of each hair follicle is felt. For waxing with hot wax, you will need a special device that keeps the temperature at the same level. The cost of equipment is high, so the technique is rarely used at home.If you do not follow basic rules, you can get a serious burn. The method is not suitable for people with increased swelling and varicose veins.

Necessary materials: strips for hair removal; warm wax; cotton swabs; baby fragrance without fragrance or with chamomile; paper towels; antiseptic for sensitive skin; paddle for application with a heat indicator; tweezers; cream against the growth of hairs in the skin.

Waxing at home

  1. One day before the procedure, cleanse the skin with a scrub or peeling to lift the hairs and pull them out of the skin.
  2. Before direct hair removal, test for an allergic reaction. Preheat the wax in the microwave according to the instructions, scoop a little funds on the spatula. Apply the composition on your wrists and wait 5 minutes. After the expiration date, remove with warm water or a napkin, evaluate possible irritation. If not, feel free to proceed with the procedure.
  3. Cut 3 strips for hair removal into thin rectangular pieces about 3 cm wide. Put them on a clean paper towel, place tweezers nearby.
  4. Remove the lid from the wax and place in the microwave on the edge of the moving plate, not in the middle. Read the instructions at what power you need to heat the composition. Set the desired temperature and holding time (about 3 minutes).
  5. After the composition has melted, mix it with a spatula. Pull it out and look at the indicator. If it is red, the wax must be cooled, if blue or green - the composition is ready to use. Place the wax in a pot of hot water to maintain the temperature throughout the procedure.
  6. Treat the skin with a disinfectant, applying it with a cosmetic swab. Wait for it to dry completely. Cover the areas with baby talcum powder, evenly distribute it on the surface, rubbing it into the hair removal zone. Remember to sanitize your hands if you are not wearing gloves.
  7. Scoop a little wax on the shoulder blade, apply to the treated area for hair growth. Do not cover the entire area at once, otherwise the removal will be very painful. Immediately put on the waxed strip for hair removal and squeeze it well, wait 2 minutes.
  8. While the tool solidifies in the first section, do the same with the second section. Also apply wax for hair growth, squeeze with a strip and leave for 2 minutes.
  9. After the deadline, proceed to withdraw. With your free hand, press the skin so that it does not stretch. Count to three and with a sharp movement tear off the strip against hair growth. Immediately squeeze the treated area with your hands to reduce pain.
  10. Evaluate the result, if there are not removed hairs, pull them out with tweezers. Repeat manipulations with each section of a site in the same sequence. It is allowed to apply wax repeatedly, but no more than 2 times. If there are loose hairs, remove them only with tweezers.
  11. After the procedure, the remaining wax is easily washed off with warm water. Do not do it with toilet soap, it is better to use a delicate gel or cosmetic towel.
  12. Once again, treat the hair removal area with an antiseptic, then apply olive oil, leave for 30 minutes. Remove excess with a cotton pad and cover the skin with the product after hair removal. Even a regular aftershave cream is suitable, which prevents the ingrowth of hairs.

After a successful procedure, you can not sunbathe in the sun or in the solarium for the next day. It is also not recommended to visit the pool, sauna and bath. Get special products that slow hair growth.
