Care for jellyfish

Growing Kombucha is part of the task. For its development and reproduction, proper care is required. An indicator of health, above all, is buoyancy. If he began to sink to the bottom and doesn’t float to the surface on his own, it means he’s “sick” and it’s time to save. The optimum temperature should not exceed 25 degrees.

Care for jellyfish

To protect the medusomycete from viruses, it is recommended to have two containers: one for its content, and the other will drain the finished liquid.

The thickness of the jellyfish should not exceed 4 cm. The excess layer that has appeared should be carefully separated from the top and laid out on other banks. The lower part is the most productive.

The healing effect of the finished drink is not more than one month. Subsequently, taste qualities are also lost, it will be more vinegar than an invigorating elixir. After keeping the liquid for a week, it is half drained and put into storage in the refrigerator. And in the jar they add newly strained tea kvass. When a new portion is ready - again pour out a portion and make up with fresh tea leaves.

The volume of fluid in the tank

During growth, the fungus requires more liquid medium, about 3 liters. And when you pour a drink, each time compensate for the shortage by adding liquid. This may be an unfinished infusion, which is cooled, sweetened per liter of boiling water 2 tbsp. l sugar and mix until complete dissolution of granulated sugar. Insoluble sugar on kombucha is one of the causes of jellyfish disease.

Bath days for Kombucha

Every two weeks, it is necessary to bathe the medusomycete, carefully removing it from the can. Rinse gently with warm water, being careful not to injure yourself. Then leave for a couple of minutes on a plate to breathe air. Strain the contents of the jar and pour into a clean container. Wash the jar and return the mushroom to it.

The mushroom habitat itself should be clean, with no signs of turbidity, and the tea product should be light in color.

To grow Kombucha at home, does not require special knowledge and abilities. It is enough to adhere to strict recipes, step-by-step technology and observe the storage conditions.

Hello. Can not understand. It is known that Kombucha can be made from rosehips of green tea, etc. By the way, what other types are there? But the main question. For example, Kombucha from green tea. Is it already different in structure? Or is it the same mushroom as from black tea? That is, the same bacteria? Is it possible to feed green tea, for example, from rosehip? I think you understand the essence of the matter? And further. Medusomyces gisevi is written, also in everyday life it is simply a “mushroom” - a symbiosis of yeast and acetic acid bacteria. Where did the yeast come from? Give a detailed answer if possible, please? Thanks.
