How to wash resin from clothes at home

Before you start processing the product from traces of tar, you must carefully prepare your clothes. Try to clean the sticky substance with sharp objects (manicure scissors, knife). To facilitate the task, put the clothes in the freezer and leave for a couple of hours until completely solidified. After that, crush the place with the contaminated area into a fist, so that the resin is cracked, scrape off. Such manipulations are mandatory when cleaning clothes from traces of this kind, but you should be careful when processing delicate fabrics.

How to wash resin from clothes

Practical recommendations

  1. To prevent the resin from spreading beyond its borders, apply and rub fragrance-free baby talcum powder into the tissue areas around the stain.
  2. If the stained area is small, cover it with cleaning products locally with a cotton swab or brush. Avoid touching clean areas of clothing.
  3. Start cleaning the product and using the composition from the edges of the stain, gradually moving towards the center. Work the thing from the wrong side with sunflower oil.

Turpentine and alcohol

Since the resin has a viscous consistency with a greasy base, cleaning must be carried out in 2 stages. Moisten a cosmetic swab in medical alcohol, then wipe the surface of the dirt, leave for half an hour. Optionally, you can use vodka. Next, apply a little turpentine on a gauze cloth, treat the stain with wetting movements. Do not rub or force, otherwise the composition will fit into the structure of the fabric. An important feature of removing the resin in this way is that the stain does not leave immediately, but after a time. If the result is incomplete, repeat the action again. To get rid of the unpleasant odor, sprinkle the treated part with lemon juice, send the clothes to wash in the machine.

Turpentine and ammonia

Combine in a homogeneous mass of 1 ml. ammonia, 20 gr. corn starch, 2 ml. turpentine, mix the composition with a knife or fork. Turn the product around, soak the stain on the wrong side with olive oil so that the dirt does not penetrate the fabric. Place a piece of polyethylene, then distribute the mixture to the outside of the stain. Cover the area with cling film, leave for 1 hour. At the end of time, remove the film, wait for partial drying. Rub the resin with a toothbrush and re-clean as needed.

Soda and Tooth Powder

Soda and Tooth Powder
Moisten your clothes in cold water, rub the pollution with household soap (concentration from 60%), leave for 2 hours. At the end of the rinse, proceed to prepare the mixture. Combine 35 gr into one mass. baking soda and 50 gr. whitening tooth powder (can be replaced with paste). Distribute into areas with resin, pour a little Chlorhexidine on top. The composition will begin to hiss and foam, after which it must be covered with cling film and wait 20 minutes. Then you need to rinse the thing, then apply only Chlorhexidine to the stain and machine / hand wash with the addition of rinse aid.

Solvent

The tool is not suitable for removing resin from delicate, namely thin types of fabric, as it greatly spoils the structure. Treat dense fabrics that endure the effects of hard drugs. As a solvent, you can use liquid to remove varnish and shellac, gasoline, pure acetone, white spirit. To effectively remove the sticky substance, moisten the cosmetic disc in one of the suggested solutions.Apply any natural oil to the underside of the stain to prevent the resin from entering the fabric fibers. After this, blot the stain and leave for half an hour. Wash a thing in a typewriter with the addition of air conditioning. If the result does not bear fruit, reapply the solution.

Stain remover

A positive characteristic of this method is considered to be its versatility. Industrial preparations are available in the form of a powder, gel, spray or soap. Depending on the type of fabric, you can choose the best option for yourself. As such, there is no general instruction, it all depends on the particular manufacturer. Read the label on the back of the bottle. The most common and effective stain removers are Eared Nannies, Antipyatin, Vanish, Faberlik, Sarma Active, Amway, Edelstar, Minute, Ecover, Frau Schmidt. You will find all of the listed products in the household chemistry departments.

Sprite

Carbonated drinks such as Sprite, Schweppes, Fanta, Coca-Cola and others can be used as an effective method for removing tar. Pour in a bowl 2 liters of drink and leave for 3-4 hours. After soaking the resin will move away from the fabric and soften, as a result of which it will not be difficult to remove it. Do this with a soft toothbrush. In cases where those parts of clothing that can be processed locally are dirty, do not lower the item into the solution in its entirety.

Boric acid

Boric acid
To prepare the composition, you need to dilute 20 ml. boric acid in 400 ml. pure water. To use the solution correctly, moisten a cosmetic swab in it, treat the stain from the wrong side, apply vegetable oil and go to the outside. Blot the resin again; do not press or rub it so as not to aggravate the situation. Wait about an hour, rinse the item and evaluate the result. If there is no proper effect, re-treat. Finish cleaning with a machine wash.

Sodium borate ("borax")

Mix 30 ml. vinegar with 45 gr. sodium borate, add 40 ml. yogurt or whole milk. Process the item with sunflower oil from the wrong side, rub well. Go to the front part, distribute the product over the entire area of contamination, wait 40 minutes. At the end of the time, wash your clothes with your hands, apply the composition again, finish the procedure thoroughly with a machine wash.

There is a second use case for borax. To prepare an effective drug, squeeze the juice from half a lemon, pour 45 g to it. sodium borate and mix well with a knife. Distribute the composition on tarry tracks, wait about an hour. If the product is white, you can pre-coat the dirt with a solution of peroxide and leave for 10 minutes.

Bleach

The method is designed for white clothing made from natural fibers. Do not use chlorine to color and delicate products. Of the common bleaches can distinguish "Domestos", "White", "Perox". Dilute 2 caps of the product in 1.3 liters of hot water, place clothes and boil for 45 minutes. After the expiration date, remove it with a wooden spatula or tongs, do not wring it out, immediately place it in the washing machine. Set the mode to 60 degrees, add bleaching powder and 100 gr. soda (in the second compartment). After washing, dry your clothes in the fresh air, away from direct sunlight.

Carefully monitor the exposure time. Moisten the area around the spot with clean ice water, such a move will not allow the resinous composition to be smeared, so the removal will take place without undue effort. Do not solvent silk or other delicate fabrics.
